Which visa to travel to Thailand ?

For months, you have been dreaming about traveling to Thailand… And here you are, ready to finally book your plane ticket to the “Land of Smiles” ! Before confirming your holidays, you should always make sure of a few things.. starting with your passport validity !
You must have a valid passport at least 6 months after your arrival in Thailand. Also, it is wisely recommended to have checked :

– Universal immunizations (DTPP, hepatitis B);
– Hepatitis A (absolutely essential);
– Typhoid (indispensable, except perhaps for a very short stay in Bangkok);

Travelling less than 30 days in Thailand

Now that you are in line with the basics, let’s talk about the visa itself. If you plan to come for vacation in Thailand for less than 30 days and that you are a citizen from one of the 45 countries allowed to get a 30 days visa waiver, you do not need a visa.

What happens if you stay longer to 30 days in Thailand

Let’s face it. If you are entering to Thailand with a 30 days visa and you overstayed, you are putting yourself in a complicated situation. The Thai authorities do not joke with visas overstay ! You can risk a whole lot of trouble from receiving a fine to worse, like risking prison or being prohibited to ever return to Thailand.

Our overall advice is to avoid overstay ! Though, if you are willing to stay longer than 30 days, you can apply for a 60 days tourist visa Thai Royal Consulates or Embassies before departure.
